Australian snowboarder Scotty James is known for his high-flying tricks and top-level talent. On Tuesday (May 2), however, the five-time X Games gold medalist embraced the cold weather in a different setting.

James was the newest guest on Kevin Hart‘s Cold as Balls on the LOL Network, which features famous athletes joining Hart in an ice bath while being interviewed by the comedian and subjected to his antics. Hart started by poking fun at James’ Australian accent before getting into James’ snowboarding origins, which is mostly due to his dad.

“My dad very much loved snowboarding from a young age,” James said. “We weren’t your typical Australian family going to the beach. We were up at the mountains snowboarding.”

James also shared an unique hobby of his: investing. Before his tub was filled with more ice (to the chagrin of Hart), James told Hart that he watches him on “Shark Tank” to make sure he makes good decisions when investing.

The two-time Olympic medalist was then given a pair of boxing gloves in an attempt to reference the boxing kangaroo, a national symbol of Australia. This led to James talking about the first time he wore his signature boxing glove snow mitts during the 2017 X Games to represent the boxing kangaroo, which led to his first X Games gold medal. He still wears them to this day and created his own line of snow mitts called SJ Mitts that look like boxing gloves.

After a brief break from the interview to allow Hart and his cohorts to throw the gloves at each other, Hart asked James what he wants next in his life, and the VIS Award of Excellence winner explained that he wants to become someone to remember in the world of snowboarding.

“I definitely want to do my best to leave somewhat of a legacy behind which is through the sport and maybe the tricks I’m doing and being innovative,” James said.

James and Hart then tried to do their own tricks with a handheld snowboard, flipping and turning on a miniature half-pipe. James demonstrated his favorite trick, the Switch McTwist, while Hart does an impossible “baked salmon.” You can watch the entire video here.
