How to Initiate the Unbreakable Gosaku Quest?

Go to Yamato in Akashima Village to start the Unbreakable Gosaku quest and get the Gosaku Armor. Look for the quest marker called “Find music in Akashima” which will lead you to Yamato’s musical instrument. You will find him near a fire in the center of the village. He will tell you the story of the Gosaku Armor.

Completing the Unbreakable Gosaku Quest

Once you hear Yamato’s story, your mission is to gather six keys from six different farmsteads. These keys are needed to unlock the hidden Gosaku Armor. Get ready to ride your horse and explore the island. Here’s where you can find each key:

Freeing All Six Farmsteads

You must liberate the Ijima, Yagata, Koshimizu, Kuta, Ohama and Aoi Farmsteads to obtain the keys. Each location requires you to rescue hostages and defeat Mongol invaders. Hostages are marked with yellow icons above their heads. If you struggle with the enemies, consider visiting Hot Springs to boost your health.

Key Locations and How to Get Them

  • Key of Ijima: Go to Ijima Farmstead. Save four hostages by sneaking around and taking out enemies quietly. The last hostage will give you the Key of Ijima.
  • Key of Yagata: Visit Yagata Farmstead and rescue the three hostages there. The final hostage will hand you the Key of Yagata.
  • Key of Koshimizu: At Koshimizu Farmstead, defeat the Mongol guards in the garden and save three hostages. After you finish then you will get the Key of Koshimizu.
  • Key of Kuta: To get the Key of Kuta, stealthily take out five enemies in a row without getting hurt and rescue three hostages. Make sure you stay hidden and don’t take any damage. After completing this you will receive the key.
  • Key of Ohama: Go to Ohama Fishing Village and rescue the three hostages there, and you will be rewarded with the Key of Ohama.
  • Key of Aoi: The final key is in Aoi Village, you will have to free this village by rescuing all three hostages to get the Key of Aoi.

    Once you have all six keys, head to the hill in Akashima and follow these steps to unlock the armour:

  • Follow the yellow marker to the sealed stone door and use the keys to open it.
  • Grapple onto the broken tree on the mountain to climb up.
  • Climb the ledges on the right to reach the far-right platform.
  • Go up the stairs and grapple onto the tree branch ahead.
  • Use the fallen tree log to get to the next area. If you fall, grab onto the ledges below.
  • At the top, you will find a treasure chest containing the prized Gosaku Armor.
