Cody Rhodes faced his greatest obstacle in The Bloodline during his journey to complete his story. His moment of triumph came when he defeated Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL. Now, as he prepares to face the new Tribal Chief, Solo Sikoa, at SummerSlam, he has issued a warning to both Sikoa and potentially even The Rock.
While speaking on ESPN’s Get Up, The American Nightmare was asked about facing the self-proclaimed leader of The Bloodline. Cody Rhodes Rhodes reflected on his victory over Roman Reigns at WWE’s greatest event and anticipated a similar outcome on August 3. He confidently asserted that after defeating Solo, if The Rock came to claim the crown of Samoan supremacy, he would beat him as well.
The Great One last appeared at WrestleMania XL. On night one, he pinned Rhodes in a tag team match. On night two, he attempted to help his cousin but was chokeslammed by The Undertaker. The Brahma Bull then visited the 39-year-old star on Raw after WrestleMania XL, indicating that their rivalry was far from over.
I defeated The Tribal Chief, the True Tribal Chief, that being Roman Reigns. I look to defeat the pretender, Solo Sokoa, at SummerSlam. If you're also someone in The Bloodline, perhaps named The Rock, we'll be watching because if you claim The Tribal Chief mantle next, same thing will happen to you.Cody Rhodes via ESPN’s Get Up
On the latest episode of SmackDown, The American Nightmare accepted the challenge for a Bloodline Rules match, the same type in which he defeated Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL. It will be interesting to see if he can overcome Solo, especially with other members allowed to interfere. Some fans even speculate that Reigns might finally confront his former enforcer.
Cody Rhodes admitted the WrestleMania XL: Behind The Curtain Documentary was difficult to watch
Recently, WWE released a documentary that showcased the behind-the-scenes developments leading up to WrestleMania XL. It focused on how The Rock replaced The American Nightmare to fight his cousin at this year’s WrestleMania. Rhodes opened up about his feelings after watching the documentary.
While speaking on the Busted Open Radio podcast, the world champion praised Ben Houser for equally focusing on all four main eventers. However, The American Nightmare also felt that it was more about exploring the relationship between The Brahma Bull and Hunter. He was brutally honest about it when he said he didn’t want to experience that moment again.
I thought Ben Houser did a great job handling the four guys. To me, it’s really a documentary more about Triple H and The Rock, and seeing that relationship come together. I watched enough of it to feel like, ‘I don’t want to relive this moment.Cody Rhodes via Busted Open Radio
The 39-year-old star acknowledged that it was a bit tough to watch. He had to pretend everything was okay when he looked into The Great One’s eyes and hugged him, but Rhodes realized it wasn’t when he sat alone in his bus. Fans also expressed disappointment that the documentary did not meet their expectations.
